QuickWeb Technologies ("QuickWeb", "we", "us"), ABN 95 920 852 424, is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information. As an Australian-registered business serving New Zealand customers, we handle personal information consistently with both the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Information Privacy Principles under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, to the extent each applies.

What we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact details name, email address, phone number, business/billing address
  • Order & billing information service plan selected, billing history, and payment details processed by our payment/billing provider (WHMCS and its connected payment gateway) — QuickWeb does not directly store full card numbers
  • Support communications messages you send via the contact form or support ticket system, and our replies
  • Technical information IP address, server usage logs and diagnostic data reasonably necessary to provide, secure and troubleshoot hosting services

We only use a functional cookie to remember your light/dark theme preference on this website, and an analytics cookie (Google Analytics) to understand aggregate site usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on quickweb.co.nz.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you — when you submit the contact form, place an order, or contact support — and, where you have an active service, automatically through the operation of that service (e.g. server logs). We do not knowingly collect personal information about you from third parties except where necessary for fraud or payment verification.

Why we collect, hold and use it

We collect and use personal information to: provide and manage the hosting services you order; verify payment and prevent fraud; respond to enquiries and provide support; send service and billing notices; and comply with our legal obligations. We do not use your information for direct marketing unless you have separately opted in, and you may opt out of any marketing communication at any time.

Disclosure of personal information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers our billing/order platform (WHMCS), payment processor, transactional email provider, and datacentre/infrastructure providers, solely to the extent needed to deliver your service
  • Law enforcement where required by applicable law or a valid law enforcement request
  • Professional advisers such as our accountant, where reasonably necessary

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Overseas disclosure

Some infrastructure or service providers we use may store or process data outside New Zealand (for example, a datacentre location chosen for your service, or an overseas-based software provider — this includes our own Australian systems). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle personal information consistently with the New Zealand Information Privacy Principles and the Australian Privacy Principles, to the extent practicable for a small business.

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and rate-limited admin authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, meet legal and tax record-keeping obligations, and resolve disputes. Where information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period (and, for New Zealand requests, within the timeframes required by the Privacy Act 2020) and may need to verify your identity first. There is no charge for making a request, though we may charge a reasonable fee for giving access if permitted by law.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below so we can investigate and respond. New Zealand residents who are not satisfied with our response may lodge a complaint with the Office of the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner. Australian residents may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
